Since there I don't think there is a Sport trim pkg. offered for 2007, I'm going to assume you mean the Wrangler TJ (1997 - 2006): The SE is only available in a 4 cyl. configuration, it is the entry level Jeep. The X (available in 2002 and beyond) replaced the early model Jeep Sports, and is the entry level 6 cyl. pkg. The Sahara offers equipment as standard that is optional in the Sport and maybe not offered at all on the X. . The options are almost entirely cosmetic, like body color fender flares, fog lights and other creature comforts on the interior. The much sought after Dana 44 rear axle is optional on both. The Rubicon offers Dana 44's front AND rear (as opposed to the rear only option on the Sport, Sahara and a few limited edition X models like the Rocky Mountain Edition), a 4:1 transfer case (as oppsed to the 2.7:1 on the others) selectable locking differentials, 4.10 differential gears (lowest on the other models is 3.73), 31" tires and a fixed yoke transfer case output shaft. The Rubicon is by far the top of the line TJ trim model, as all its 'extras' are functional and relate directly to what most poeple think a Jeep was built for - driving off road. If your'e shopping for a Jeep I'd suggest you look for a Rubi, a Sport with a Dana 44 rear end, or one of the limited edition X models like the Columbia or the Rocky Mountain Edition, as these both came with a D44 rear. I think the Unlimited TJ's (the ones with the extended wheel base may also have come std. with a D44 rear, but make sure you check.

Don't forget that there is also an X version out there as well which is basically an SE but with the 6 cylinder instead of the 4 cylinder.

How could the Rubicon TJ be introduced in 93 when the TJ started with the 97 model year in 96? (just wondering)

Some changes were also made to the TJ part way through the 97 model year which makes the early 97 units slightly different than any others in a few subtle ways.

The TJ was manufactured on 1996 , put out for sale in 1997.

Come with 4.0L and 2.5L, as well right hand.

The Sahara version come with a hard top, and fenders of fiber glass.

Unique and attractive désigne, looks awesome.

Is the same engine on the Grand Cherokee, and same suspension.

Enthusiastic Jeep-Wrangler's disagree for the smooth drive.

Ensamble and manufactured in Canada until 2000.

They move the production in 2006 to Cleveland, OH

Is a great vehicle, drives smooth and shift well.

If you are talking about TJ's (97-06) The difference is basically non-mechanical - the Sahara has almost all the options that you can load on a sport and a different set of seats. They both pack the 4.0L I6. The product line was: SE - In line 4 - Stripped down version X - In line 6 - Base trim and options Sport - In line 6 with a nice package of extras Sahara - In line 6 with a full load of extras (top of the line till the early 2000's when the Rubicon came out) Rubicon - In line 6 with beefed up parts not previously available for off road use.

The se is the base model 2.5 liter engine, next is a sport model which comes with the inline 6 cylinder engine who is nearly every option on it except for the electronic rear view mirror, subwoofer in the center console, and cruise control is an option on the sport edition, the sahara edition is the luxury trim design for the jeep wrangler which comes usually with soft and hard tops, 16 inch wheels with 31 inch tars, cruisecontrol come standard with the subwoofer in the center console and the electronic rearview mirror. The tj is simply the body design which run from 1997-2006. The new body design is the jk.

The SE is the base model stock with a 2.5L 4 cyl. came optional with A/C and a few other accessories

The Sport came with a 4.0L 6cyl that came with pretty much every option

Sahara also with the 4.0, 6 and come with a different style interior and painted fender flairs. Hard top may or may not have been standard, not positive.

The Rubicon is the offroad package for wrangler. it comes stock with improved suspension, tires, etc.

Hope this helps

The Sport, Sahara and SE were basically just different trim levels of Wrangler. I'm really not sure of the exact differences, the Sahara I think came with the Hardtop standard.

The TJ is a body line that ran from 1997-2006. Preceded by the YJ 1987-1995(there was no 1996, the TJ came out in early 1996). The TJ was followed by the JK starting in 2007 and still in production. In 1993 the TJ Rubicon was introduced as the ultimate factory off-road Jeep and the model is continued in the JK model line.
