i cant see it so i dont know for sure but something simular happened before the button on the side of the door that presses in when you close it some time will shift or come loose so when you shut the door it doesnt depress all the way and your lights wont turn off if you cant figure it out you could rewire all your lights from the fuse to a switch and just have them on a switch would not be to hard. best of luck

check for worn wires, If damaged wires are touching or even one damaged wire, It could send false signals turning your lights on................not sure, just an idea

Is this the HEADLIGHT?

Is this the TAIL LIGHT?

Is this the DOME light?

Why cut the wire? Why not just remove the fuse or the BULB for now?

I think you might mean the dome light. If you suspect the door, try pressing the button between the door and see if the DOME light goes out. If that works, then the switch needs to be adjusted for height.

But seriously you really have to be more specific.

Good Luck...

FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO IS CHECK YOUR WIRES, MAKE SURE NONE ARE TOUCHING OR EXPOSED. I AM ASSUMING YOU MEAN THAT EVEN WHEN THE KEY IS OUT, THE LIGHTS STAY ON (DOME,DASH,FOOTWELL,ETC) THIS IS CAUSED BY TWO THINGS : A BUSTED DOOR SWITCH (WHICH YOU SAY IS OK, BUT IF BROKE IT WILL STILL MOVE FINE) OR TOUCHING WIRES.

IF YOU THINK ITS THE SWITCH, TRY THIS:

OPEN YOUR DOOR ALL THE WAY, THEN USE YOUR TOES TO PUSH IN THE SWITCH. IF THE LIGHTS STAY ON, OR GO OFF BUT COME RIGHT BACK ON, REPLACE THE SWITCH.

IF THE LIGHTS GO OFF, BUT THEN COME BACK ON ONLY ONCE YOU START THECAR OR TURN IT OFF, THEN YOU HAVE SOME WIRING GETTING A LITTLE TOO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER IN A BAD WAY. THE ONLY RECOURSE FOR THIS IS TO CHECK ALL THE WIRING(FROM THE DOOR TO THE FUSE BOX) AND MOST OF IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE OR INSPECT. YOU CAN TRY SNIFFING AROUND, LITERALLY, FOR SOME BURNT PLASTIC SMELL, OR YOU CAN USE A MIRROR ON A STICK TO TRY TO TRACE THE WIRES. ONCE YOU THINK YOU FOUND THE RIGHT SPOT, EITHER BY SMELL OR MIRROR, YOU CAN PULL THE DASH APART AND TRY TO REPLACE THE LITTLE SECTION OF WIRE, USUALLY ABOUT TWO TO THREE INCHES BEFORE AND AFTER THE BURNT AREA. BE SURE TO WRAP ALL THE NEW CONNECTIONS WITH HEAT SHRINK OR ELECTRICAL TAPE.

IF YOU DID ALL THIS AND STILL THE LIGHTS COME ON, CHECK THE LOCK MECHANISM TO MAKE SURE THE CONTACT POINTS ARE CLEAN OF MUCK AND JUNK. DIRTY CONTACT POINTS COULD BE TELLING YOUR COMPUTER THAT THE DOOR IS STILL OPEN, AND NEEDS TO KEEP THE LIGHTS ON.
