There is a 2005 white Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with 137,000 miles on it. It has a clean carfax, no dings or scratches, leather seats in great condition, power sunroof and windows, full size spare tire, good brakes and tires, and the car runs great. Under the hood looks good and the car makes no noises or ticks like you'd expect a Jeep to make at this point.
Right now it would be $9000 including the title, tax, license, and doc fee.
I'm only if'y about the mileage. The only way I would get the vehicle is if I can talk him down to $8200 or $8400 all inclusive. I've owned 2 previous Jeeps both with over 100k miles, but wasn't too sure about buying a newer model with high mileage because I don't know if they can sustain the miles that the 1996-2004 models can.
My only question is: Is the mileage too high?

That prices seems way to high. Unless you can drop it lower than that i would say keep looking for one with lower Mileage. Unless you'll see yourself spending another 1k changing parts out.

YES! Any car with more than 10k a year is extremely high mileage. Now I do realize that nowadays folks use their cars more and more. Sometimes I wonder if they really live in them by seeing some of the mileage on used cars. Heck I seen a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee with almost 300k on the odometer. WOW! But engines built now are designed to last longer. I think the price is to steep. Just call your local bank and ask them the loan value and be sure to tell them all of the options the Jeep has and go from there. You don't have to get the loan from the bank, but it is a good place to start on a price that you like. But, it is up to you if you want the Jeep. If you like it and that is what you want, then go for it. I hope you get a good deal and remember the "wave" when you see a fellow Jeeper!

Yes for an 05 137k miles IS ALOT. My 98 5.9 V8 Grand Cherokee has only 124k miles... granted i dont drive it much, and my other 98 Grand Cherokee has 170k miles and we drive it A TON..

Do the math.. that Jeep has been driven almost 23k miles each year.. The Average for any vehicle is 10 to 15k.... Look for a lower mileage Jeep.

As for your concern, i agree the WK's havent been out long enough to prove if they can handle the mileage the older GC'S have been shown but remember the older GC's are known for transmission problems, not engine problems. The newer GC's seem to have more engine problems and less transmission problems... I dunno if it were me even if the vehicle was in perfect shape, i wouldnt get it bcause of the mileage.. but you probly wont find an 05 for 9k anywhere else,

for that price id say its way too expensive. you dont know if hes done regular oil changes and all that. jeeps last anywhere from 150,000-200,000 miles. 200,000 and higher is if you changed oil regularly and maintained it. and things are going to constantly be breaking down one by one that you need to fix. ac being an example.so for 13,000 miles i wouldnt buy it, cuz past that you dont know where the cars going to take you. just too much hassle. High milage is bad no matter the year!
