I'm looking for a Mud Terrain tire obviously. I've narrowed it down to these two. They both look like great tires. But which one has better tread wear?

I have heard great things about the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R with Kevlar. tirerack.com gave the tire a great review. I have not heard many things about the BF goodrich tire. The Goodyear tire will be better than the bf goody on the road due to the tread design. When looking for a good all terain tire for my jeep, i couldnt decide between the goodyear wrangler duratrac or the bfgoody all terain t/a ko. i went with the goodyear because of the reviews and the guys at the local tire shop said the goodyears were better. The mt/r will be better in the snow than the km2 and it will also be better on ice. however, they are both mud tires so they lack sipes. this makes both tires bad for ice.

I would go with the Goodyears. They will be stronger than the Bf goodys due to the kevlar. a must for offroading.

I have used both and I tend to like the BF Goodrich Mud terrain KM2's a tad bit more. They are quieter and crawl on rocks better. They are awesome in deep snow and good in mud. The Wranglers are marginally better in the rain and mud but not by much they are a stiffer tire which will give you a rougher ride as well. In all reality they are both really good tires and I am just splitting hairs... if you care to read more you can here...

I just put a set of 33x10.5r15 KM2's on my '98 TJ about 3,000 miles ago. Before I purchased them I had read that it's difficult to get a good idea of the tread life since the tires have only been out for a couple of years, but some people say they should get upwards of 45,000 miles. I am a little bit skeptical of that but perhaps it's just because of my driving style (pretty agressive) it seems like they have already worn noticeably. They are still a really good tire, very quiet on the road and perform admirably in the mud. I would recommend them if you aren't trying to get a super duper long tread life and still want a tire that performs very well!

The Goodyear is the better one and unlike the other it is American.
