Sounds to me like a wiring problem somewhere

sounds like maybe the fuel pump.but whoever done all that work should be willing to look at it for free in case the controller you bought is bad. does it crank and not start or does it do nothing at all? i think you should hear the fuel pump kick in when you start the car. an old tech trick is to have someone hit on the gas tank where the fuel pump is while someone tries to crank it. if its the fuel pump it may start then you will know for sure if its the pump. and a bad fuel pump will short the fuse if that's what the fuse is, you need to find out which fuse is blowing

it may have a short in the ecm or pcm harness or broken wire . it could have spiked and taken out the controller. that fuse dont read the fuel pump ( i think)

DO NOT PULL OFF THE FUEL PIPE AND CRANK THE ENGINE!! NO NEVER DO NOT DO THAT!! VERY DAMGEROUS!! It will spray fuel everywhere due to electric pump!

What does the 20 AMP fuse go to? What does it say it goes to. Find that and trace wiring. If part of transmission, perhaps damaged that took a while to wear through.

FYI. If you wanted to check the fuel, install a pressure gauge on the Test port on the fuel rail.

Good Luck

A fair amount of Cherokees of this vintage have the very problem you are describing here. Usually it's a failure in the windshield seal. Fortunately it is also usually an easy and inexpensive fix. Take a run down to your local auto glass shop and have them check it out. A simple reseal will solve the problem in most cases.

you have a direct short in your wiring or a problem with your new computer I would go buy a obd reader they are about $50 available at most parts stores and should tell you the problem other than that a mechanic good luck.

sounds like a fuel problem, is the fuel filter ok? check fuel pump also, pull the fuel pipe off the engine and get someone to turn the engine over with the key and see if you get fuel
